This adapter works fine. It was bought a few weeks ago to replace the original one which has started to develop a cable break where the DC lead comes out of the pack – so I was getting intermittant charging. I have a VGN-S5XP laptop.

I have no issue with the figure of eight style mains socket as that is the same as my original power adapter.

It is a little smaller than the original, has a green led to show power-on and it was a very good price. There is just one obervation that the leads are a little stiff so don’t fold-up quite as easily as the original – but that’s me being very picky.

Over-all I highly recommend this purchase and the supplier.

I needed a replacement adaptor after the one that came with my Vaio died on me. After a long search this one looked to be the best bet but I was still concerned about ordering because the price is so low compared to getting one from Sony. Well I’m really glad I took the chance. The adaptor that arrived was both a genuine Sony adaptor and the correct model. It’s now several weeks later and the adaptor is still working perfectly. Seriously great value.

I looked all over the internet for a replacement adaptor for my sony vaio. From sony it cost over £100! I thought this lead looked worth a try and I am not dissapointed. It works!! Such a relief to be able to use my laptop again.

Given my money back i would have bought any of the other chargers, while it all works well and looks alright, even feels quite well made, the cable is really really short, probably only around a meter long. i was in a hurry when i ordered this and didn’t notice it in the description

i looked in shops at products and read others’ reviews before ordering – I was originally going to pay twice as much for the executive kindle jacket but really glad I went for this one cos it’s more streamlined and looks just like a diary from the outside. Really sturdy too – I can just chuck it in my bag and not worry about damage to my kindle. Ok, I’ll have to transport my m-edge light separately when travelling as this case doesn’t have storage space for the light but it really isn’t an issue. Excellent value for money – and I saved about £7 on price in shops like John Lewis and Currys.

I had a sony vaio 15 inch laptop for home use, and an asus eee pc 1201 net book for travel. so i decided instead of having 2 laptops, to have just one that is light enough for travel, but with a screen wide enough to work comfortably with long word files. ACER s3 was the choice.

have had it for 1 month. screen is good. light and easy to use. I am quite pleased. BUT – the battery is nowhere near 6 hours. for normal use – internet browsing and word – it is more like 4 hours. also the keyboard is a bit uncomfortable – I make a lots of typos. either still have to get used more or it is not fully comfortable…

another minus is the fact that USB plugs are in the back of the laptop. whenever you need anything you need to close the screen and then turn the laptop to plug a usb key or anything you need. quite uncomfortable.

this being said – i would still buy S3 for these money. but hope future version would have USB elsewhere, better battery and better keyboard.

OK, I brought this on looks – which are stunning.
I had been looking for a laptop for weeks, and they all looked boring!
Then saw this, and brought it without regards to any limitations.

End result, a GREAT laptop that does the job, for over 5 hours!
